Clare Hillerby jewellery Buying Guide
Due to the nature of my work being handmade, items may vary a little each time they are made so please use the images as a guide and feel free to discuss your preferences. All papers are original and so cannot be duplicated. I can email scans of available papers on request with your provisional order if you would like to them choose yourself. Semi-precious stones and stamp colours are distributed throughout the catalogue. All beads are semi-precious and depend on availability though those I have selected are generally available. Please be aware that colours can vary due to the nature of the materials, the photography and how they appear on your screen.
Ordering: All items from the Jewellery pages are limited edition and can be ordered from. Specials are on-off and cannot be ordered from but feel free to ask about their whereabouts and availability.
Pieces made to order will generally take 2 to 4 weeks from confirmation. Occasionally items may be available to send straight away. If you need something for a specific date, even at short notice, please ask as I may be able to do it, although payment will still be needed before delivery.

You do not need a PayPal account in order to complete this transaction, just let me know this is how you would like to pay and I will send an invoice through my PayPal account to your email address. PayPal automatically encrypts your personal details in transit from your computer to mine. You can find more details at www.paypal.com. Payment is due on invoice, once the order has been confirmed by both parties. The work will only be sent once payment has cleared. Once the details of the order have been confirmed by both parties, it cannot be cancelled.
Delivery: Work sent to a U.K. address will be posted via Royal Mail Special delivery, which insures the jewellery and guarantees next day delivery. It will need to be signed for so I will email to discuss a convenient time and address for this. The equivalent insured postage will be used for the Rest of the World, usually Airsure or Internationally Signed for. Postage will be included in the final invoice. For single items or small parcels up to the value of £200, £6 is charged for delivery within the U.K., then £3 for each additional item after. Postage is £8 for Europe, and £9 for U.S.A. Australia and New Zealand, and £12 for the R.O.W. with £3 for each additional item. Prices exclude duties and taxes which are the responsibility of the customer.
Packing: Each order is specially gift wrapped and boxed ready to give as a gift.
Damage or loss: I will do my best to ensure work is parcelled and posted correctly but in the event something is damaged or lost in the post I will endeavour to repair/replace the goods as soon as possible. Please notify me within 7 days of any damage or if the items have not arrived on the expected day or if they have been damaged in transit. I will make a claim on your behalf and may need you to return the damaged parcel to me, but will refund any costs you incur if you send along a valid receipt.
Refunds: In the event you are not satisfied with your purchase I can swap items to the same value, unless they have been tailor made for you specifically. The work should be returned in perfect condition in the packaging it arrived in within 7 days via Special delivery or the equivalent if overseas. Please send a quick email or call to let me know your intentions and problems. Please send the work to the studio address on the Contact page and retain your receipt of postage in case of any problems with delivery. Any cost, loss or damage occurring in the return is the responsibility of the customer. If the value of the swapped item(s) is less than the amount paid I will issue a gift certificate for the amount due, or refund if under £10. If the new item is more, the customer will be invoiced for the due amount. The work will be posted once this payment is received in full, postage will be added to this invoice.
Faulty items: If an item is faulty please return it as it was received by the same delivery type, within 7 days and I will repair and return it as a priority and refund your postal expenses if you send a valid receipt.
After care: Clean oxidised items gently with warm water and a soft, old toothbrush, a little household cleaner can be used if necessary. White items should be immersed in silver dip for a few seconds, rinsed thoroughly and patted dry gently. Items which are a mix of black and white should be cleaned with an old toothbrush and water. Papers are generally covered with perspex to help protect it from deterioration, though they are not air-tight. If liquid does get inside please take off the item and leave to dry naturally.
With all items, avoid contact with perfume, hair products and washing up detergents, etc and to avoid scratching I recommend that items are stored away from other items as well as direct sunlight in the box they arrived in.
Although oxidising is the optimum tarnished state a silver piece can be it can fade over time and with a lot of use. Most items can be refreshed if you let me know and arrange a time to post back to me at your cost, via Special delivery or the equivalent if overseas. I will do it as soon as I am able and return it to you at my cost, in the same way. I am happy to help with further enquiries and refresh items for a small charge. Please email or call with any queries.
Collages: All collages are one-off and mounted onto ice white mounting board, unframed and only signed on request. They vary in size from 13 to 27cm wide x 9 to 23cm in height and all are £90 each, plus postage as follows, based on one collage per parcel:
Within the UK via Special Delivery (next day/signed for) is £8.00
To Europe via Airsure (insured/takes 2 - 4 days) is £14.00
To the USA via Airsure (insured/takes 2 - 4 days) is £16.00
Please add £2 postage for each additional collage ordered.
The collages illustrated are usually available but occasionally they will be in an exhibition so please email or call to check their availability. If they are in my possession I can post them as soon has payment has been received.
Gift certificates: Certificates can be issued in ten pound stages from £10 to £500 and are valid for one year from purchase day (or if it is to give for a special date, I can start it from that date, if within a month of purchasing). They can be used against limited edition jewellery, available special pieces of jewellery or collages and either to pay for one or more items in full, or to be put against a larger amount. I will invoice for any amount over the certificates voucher, or issue further certificates if less than the amount. Any follow up certificates will have a new one year use by date.
To request a Gift Certificate, please email or call with your request. They can be either sent directly to the recipient of the Gift Certificate or to the purchaser by post or email as a PDF document. You can pay by cheque or I can invoice you via my PayPal account (see above). Postage of the certificate is free.
To redeem the certificate the recipient can email details of the item(s) they would like and attach the PDF certificate, or return by post with the order, or call and state the unique code number.
